Michigan had the pleasure of a visit by the Swedish King, in the end of September. The King appeared together with Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm, at a seminar in Dearborn outside Detroit.
The subject of the Seminar was energy and the King said, in has remarks, that the climate changes we see today are the greatest the world has faced. Several of the following speakers talked about green energy and what could be done to improve our environment.
In the afternoon His Majesty the King visited Flint, Michigan for a ceremonial opening of a proposed biogas facility. The plans are to build a facility in Flint to produce energy out of waste from wastewater treatment plants.
The day was concluded with a reception in the evening for, among all, members from different Swedish organizations for example the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce, Detroit . Everybody had the opportunity to meet and speak with the King and Governor Granholm, and have their pictures taken.
