SACC Detroit invited members to the Annual Christmas Luncheon on the 2nd of December 2010 at Birmingham Country Club, Birmingham, hosted by Blaire Miller.
During our Annual Meeting, that preceded the Luncheon, the new Board was presented and voted on.
Before we sat down to eat, Ken Enborg, Chairman of SACC Detroit, thanked everybody for coming and recognized the benefactors for the Swedish Jul bord, Willow Hagans, Swedish Council of America, Karin and Lennart Johansson, Consulate General of Sweden, Tom Mark, Detrex Corporation, Kjell Nilsson, Global Science and Technology and Doug Parks , Dow Chemical.
We had the most delicious traditional Swedish JUL BORD. The chefs at Birmingham Country Club, did a great job with all the different kinds of Herring, Grav Lax, Meatballs, Ham and even a perfect Janssons Temptation. A big thank you to all the staff working with this event.
The program for the Luncheon was a very well appreciated speech by Governor Jennifer M. Granholm. Her presentation was very interesting and mentioned some of the different collaborations that has taken place between Michigan and Sweden. After words she was presented with a lifelong membership in SACC Detroit by Blaire Miller and Ken Enborg. The membership was framed in a beautiful glass frame from Kosta Boda and Governor Granholm even received a pair of Candleholders from Kosta Boda, as a thank you gift from SACC Detroit.
As always we had a wonderful Luncheon with a lot of networking among our guests.
